In 2015, North Water acquired an industrial water network from Water Valley in Harlingen. This system purifies freshwater from the Van Harinxmakanaal canal into process water for Frisia Zout and Spaansen Beton in Harlingen. In addition to the supply of industrial water for general industrial applications, the system is also used to supply extinguishing water. The project also presents a great deal of potential for energy/residual heat.
